The Henry Girls w/Ry Cavanaugh
Saturday, March 15th 2014
Valley Players Theater
doors at 7:30 show at 8:00
On March 15th Phantom Music Series will be holding its second to last regularly scheduled performance with a truly dynamic group of women straight from Ireland. The Henry Girls are a rising star, and their tight harmonies, and fantastic instrumentation will leave you breathless.
Here are a few quotes from the press...
‘A full bodied and powerfully dynamic collection... High buoyant vocal harmonies and ebullient instrumental attack make for stellar moments aplenty.’
Roots Magazine (UK)
'What gossamer voices came whisping out of our speakers? Who are these lovely voices that bewitch us? The Henry Girls are more like the three Graces: Splendor, Mirth, and Cheer. If indeed there are angels among us, here be them.’
New Folk Radio (UK)
‘…shimmering harmonies…this winsome Irish trio weaves a continuous spell, adorning a fresh sounding and varied set with their beguiling and versatile vocal chemistry’
Roots Music Report (USA)
The Henry Girls will be joined by Ry Cavanaugh of Session Americana, and, since this is one of our last shows, don't be surprised if a few "special guests" turn up as well. I'm working on the possibility of some libations being available the night of the show from certain local producers, and there may very well be some light fare as well
I really hope you'll come join us as we usher out what has been an absolutely fantastic, and very satisfying run of shows at the Valley Players Theater. We've been honored by your collective appreciation and attendance.
The Stray Birds
Wednesday, April 9th, 2014
Valley Players Theater
doors open at 7:30 Show at 8:00
For our last regularly scheduled Phantom Music Series event at the Valley Players we can think of no better way to wrap it all into one fantastic final hurrah.
We began it all with The Stray Birds in a funky old barn a couple years ago with a group of 30 or 40 friends... all of us left the performance speechless. We knew we had just experienced something rare and wonderful with a fantastically talented trio of young musicians. From that point in time till now the Birds have been on a tremendous upward path, delighting audiences at every turn.
Saying goodbye to the Series is going to be tough... really tough... but, I think doing it with these fine musicians is appropriate, and will help to ease us into our next endeavors.
All the folks who have frequented our shows have been so wonderful and appreciative... audience and artists alike. We've made a ton of new friends, had many a wonderful night back at the homestead with the musicians after the shows, and generally felt we did our damnedest to bring some additional good times and revelry to our Valley.
Come to this show and help us celebrate the love of music, camaraderie, and laughter that has made the Phantom Music Series so near and dear to us. Don't be surprised if there are some surprise performers, some various libations, and maybe even a bite or two to eat. I'm going to do my best to send the Series off in style, and I really need you all there when I do.
